The ins & outs of the new driving test in Flanders

Earlier this year, a new driving test came into force in Flanders. Some important changes have taken place in the theory part and the practical exams. Therefore, when you learn to drive, you understand better!Changes in the theoretical driving test

Since 1 June 2017, a distinction has been made between serious violations and minor errors in theoretical tests. For example, driving a red card or speeding will result in a serious violation with a penalty of 5 points. You must score at least 41 points out of 50, which means you’re worth two serious fouls anyway. From now on you can make up to 9 minor mistakes or 1 major violation and 4 minor mistakes in the theory part.

New driving test on the track

The most important changes relate to practical exams. Since this year, candidates must be able to do six instead of two exercises. Lots are drawn to determine the two exercises you actually need to perform. The six actions are:
